Is it possible for humans to become animals or plants (again)? Suppose I have all the money in the world and I don’t have any inner aspiration or goal or interest in anything. On the other side, for some reason I should not or cannot commit suicide. The only thing that remains is living like a plant until I die. I would wake up every morning and find no reason to get out of the bed. Would I need to go to the bathroom or kitchen? No, with all that money I would have people to take care of those for me, I can stay in bed. My body might become swollen and painful after a while, but I have doctors there to give me drugs and relieve the pain. So I will finally become a drug addict it seems! The question is whether I will still feel myself or not. Would I have thoughts anymore? Would I finally become a zombie?

We `ll definitely incarnate into other material bodies according to our Karma and who knows what body our next life will be in ?
what matters is when we find the ultimate goal of our life nothing else matters, nth else like money, sex , hopelessness etc.

In fact that "again" in the first line refers to evolution and not incarnation. And after all, it is only in parentheses. But anyway, I don't understand what you mean and how it can be related to zombies withought aspiration and consciousness.

well downward evolution from human body and human consciousness to animal consciousness is sth different. u r right. when there is no deliberation, there wont be any consciousness either and similarly not even a single breath can come out without aspiration let alone not becoming a zombie. without inspiration everything which have been surrounding the mind from within wouldn`t make sense.

It seems unlikely that the population as a whole could evolve back down to a plant-like existence. This would require everyone to be idle, which violates the hypothesis that you have all your needs taken care of--unless, I suppose they were taken care of by machines. And even then, the machines would wear out, etc., meaning that people would still have different roles in the population and evolution would likely occur (upwards). I can indeed see, though, a general soporific state where most people are pleasantly drugged yet maintain control of their necessary servants through some technical means, sort of like the late Roman Empire or many others. Still, there might be barbarians who would upset the applecart, shifting evolution in gear once more!
